Up Dated June 29, 2009

June 27th at the Meeker Rodeo Sage and Junior laid down a smokin run 16.5 to win Sat. nights performance. Friday June 26th they were 1 out of the money with a 16.9.

Sage and Junior take 1st both days at the Noble Open Rodeo. GREAT JOB!

Sage Owens and Mr Tiny Doc aka Junior competing at the IFYR July 2008. This is the 1st year for Sage to run at this Rodeo. At this time, Sage was riding Junior for me as I just had to many to ride and keep going. Aug of 2008 Sage became the proud owner of him.

I am more then proud of this team. Junior is a very ratey horse and it takes an aggressive rider to get him around the barrels. Sage has done a great job riding him and she has learned to be aggressive and they are getting the job done.

Sage and Junior accomplished alot for there 1st season together. She entered many rodeos where she won some and placed in others. She ran against some of Oklahoma's toughest rodeo horses and proved she could run right there with them. As with any new horse, it takes time to really get together and get consistent. By the end of 2008 rodeo season, Sage and Junior were finding their niche with each other and really putting down some nice runs.

2009 will be a great year for both of them. Junior has had 2 1/2 months rest and is now in the process of getting back into shape. They entered their 1st run for '09 on January 24th. This is Sage's 2nd run back since Juniors rest time. They did really well, won 1st in the 2D. The crowd was light (only because it was like 23 degrees) but the crowd was tough. Phyllis Wells rode her very nice horse and won it with a 15.8, Sage ran a 16. 610. I felt this was a really nice run for Sage coming back from the lay off time.

I will be adding pictures and videos to this page as they progress. I'm proud of both of them. It makes it really nice to have raised and trained a nice horse like Junior and see them go on to a new owner and do so well.

Good Luck to Sage and Junior as they hit the rodeo trail this summer.
